Ian P. Zimmerman Biography

Ian graduated Magna Cum Laude from Queens College in 1977 with a BA in Philosophy. After a year travelling in Africa he went to Law School and Graduated from Brooklyn Law School in 1980.

Ian Zimmerman was a trial lawyer with the New York City Legal Aid Society, Criminal Defense Division,  in Brooklyn New York from 1981 -1987 where he represented over 2000 indigent criminal defendants. The New York Daily News called Ian a modern day “Perry Mason” for his zealous defense and exoneration of a wrongly accused man.

Ian passed the California Bar in 1987 and moved to San Francisco where he began his own firm specializing in Personal Injury cases. Ian has tried approximately 50 jury trials over a 30 plus career and is widely considered to be the ‘go to’ attorney for other lawyers practicing Personal Injury Law.  The firm’s motto “We don’t back down” has been shown time after time.

Ian has written law articles and has testified on Legal issues before the California Legislature. Ian has appeared on the Larry King Live and other nationally syndicated television shows.  Ian hosted his own Radio Show “Law Talk”.

Ian is admitted to the State Bar of New York and California.
